Documentary film final Evaluation

Our documentary on sustainable living was very good and very organized as far as the information but the film and camera work was okay because in some places it was a little shaky but it was okay.

The documentary film had a lot of interesting fact about sustainable living

and why we should care about sustainable living and what we can do to keep the

environment safe. I think we did a good job in trying to persuade people to live more

sustainable. I think when people see this film that it make them see that they can make a

difference in their life and their children life by just throwing away plastic bottle in the

recycling bin. What work in the film were the transitions from group film to another

group film that was pretty good . Every group did a good job of putting there

information together and deciding on the music that would go well with each segment but

some of the groups sound was a little off but they got it back together.

I learn a lot about from this project .I learned that make a documentary film takes a

whole lot of work because you have to decide on a topic and then you have to decide on

the subtopic. Then you have to blog about the information you found for your subtopic

and then you have see if the information you have found for your film is accurate. It takes

a lot of hard work to make a documentary film.

1.World wide, rainforests are dissapearing at a rate of one and a half football fields per second. Each spring the forests beathe in oxygen and the earth breathes out again the following autumn, but like a heavy smokers lungs the earth is loosing its ability to breathe at all. Just a few centuries ago, earths equator was girdled by a green belt of 15 million sq. miles of rain forest, an area about 5-times that of contiguous US. Now the equiv. of 3 USA’s worth of Forest are GONE! there is only 6.2 million sq. miles left.

For my visual metaphor I would have alot of people siting down eating lunch and then people start get up and fade away and after everyone is gone. You see all this trash on table and on the floor and a bunch of trash in the trash can  that it’s overflowing with trash. Then the camera panes to the recycling bin and there’s nothing in it. At the end of the film the a kid come out and see all the trash and he says “if these people dont’ care about living sustainable why should we”.

Matthew Needleman film show us the example of a bad camera angle and a good camera angle. He also talk  about “the rule of thirds “and how different camera angle can make your film more interesting. Neddleman then talk to about using a storyboard to plan the scene and camera shots we would use for some thing for example a person opening a door instead of showing  the person opening the door you could have the camera on the the person hand  opening the door instead of  their whole body.

Myth 1: This myth is talking about the definition of sustainability and how nobody really knows what sustainability  because there are so any ways of defining sustainability. The United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development defined sustainability as development that meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Myth 2:  This myth is talking about how sustainability is all about the environment and how we should feel more connected to nature.

Myth 3: This myth

Myth 4: This myth is talking about how we should recycle material instead of just throwing them away and if we do this we could help the environment.

Myth 5: In myth five they are talking about how much money people  spend by having incandescent light bulb in their lamp and in your hummer that money they spent on that can go more sustainable technology.

Myth 6: This myth is saying that living sustainable dosen’t mean you have to stop trying to achieve a sustainable life.

Myth 7: This myth

Myth 8:

WS: Wide shot-I would use a wide shot to show the person body language and to show the background. if it important.

MS: Medium Shot-I would use and medium shot to see a person face expression and their hand movement.

CU: Close up-I would use a close up shot to show a person face expression and not so much of the background.

ECU: Extreme close up-I would use a extreme close up to show a person emotion.

The discussion went well but I really wanted the art in education to win because I worried that environmental issue would have to many topic to pick from and we won’t be able to decide. I ‘m not really that excited for this topic .

We could have people eating and then the people start to disappear and there food is still on the table and after everyone is gone you can see all the trash left on the table and floor. Then we could say if these people don’t care about living sustainable why should we.

Hello my name is Marquis Miller .I’m a student at Parkway North High School. I’m doing a documentary on sustainable living. I am looking for an expert to interview. Do you have anyone I could talk to on this topic.

What do you think of when people say what is sustainable living?

Do you think that sustainable living is good?

What would you do to help people live sustainable?

What are some effect of not living sustainable?

Should we as individual care about sustainable living?

Do you think in the future that the resource we use today still be use more or less?

What do you we can do to keep living sustainable?

This film show how people can take things out of context and make people look bad or make people sound bad or say something they didn’t say. This film make me think of what we should do when we’re editing our interview how to not change what people say even if it go against what we are trying to say. We still have to listen to what they have to say.
